So I want to complain to HP for releasing a replacement driver for the PHotosmart c309g-m printer side but not for the scanner. They were all working for the printer and the printer printing with them, but no device had a clue there was a scanner attached by any of those methods Why uninstall the printer driver as well so that the printer doesn't work either!ĥ wasn't any good either as WIA was already running and set as those instructions.Ħ also useless as mentioned in my first post, I already found it was connected, and I had tried LAN, and it was reporting an address for the device, and I'd also tried BT and USB. Just to dump a working printer that has a perfectly good scanner that would work if only HP had provided a Scanner driver as well as a Printer driver is beyond the pale.ģ HP Scan and capture app - that doesn't work either, because there is NO DRIVER!Ĥ doesn't work either. What is obvious is that HP have only done half a job and issued a driver for the printer part only, perhaps they want you to throw away the scanning bed somehow and keep the printer part!!! NOT VERY anti-pollution conscious /Green when you should make all electronics and machinery last and recycle it. The printer is there but there's no driver for the scanner so what good is the instruction "SCAN USING THE PRINTER DEVICE DRIVER, because there isn't one! There is no pull down menu that comes up with start SCAN at all and certainly no preview menu. No good telling me to go to control panel and find the printer scanner. You ask it to scan and it says its incompatible, so why the heck did HP release it as a replacement for the now defunct HP solution centre? How dumb is that? It isn't even compatible with this great printer scanner. The printer does not need problems that don't exist being looked for.Ĭ) I also tried the useless HP SMART or rather HP DUMB software. This is despite from the outset you tell it you have a ***"SCANNER"*** problem. You load it up and all it wants to do is find printing problems that don't exist. I did try that document you mentioned, but to be frank it is pretty useless sorry to say.Ī) I am trying to use the scanner with Win 10 laptop.ī) The HP printer scanner Dr is UTTER< UTTER RUBBISH for this printer. ON one forum there are 29 people asking about scanning on this excact same model, 29 questions and no answers.

There are no drivers to update on the website for this printer - it used to work so well with HP solution centre which connected and ran with Adobe flash but once Adobe gave up renewing their Flash its been nothing but problems. All the "solutions" on forums are stupid things like run scan doctor and I already described when I did that. I spent the whole day yesterday trying to fix this problem and nothing solves it. There is no reason why it shouldn't work again except from lack of support for it from HP. Its a really good printer scanner when the softwareworks. The one occasion it did scan it stuffed the scan somewhere I can't find it and now the scanner is permanently off line though 99.1 % of the time the two laptops I have can't see its got a scanner attached. (and I've tried LAN and USB hard connections as well as BT.

I've tried adding Windows scanners as none seem to available for my HP Photosmart c 309g printer scanner but the software never, ever can find there's a scanner attached. It says the HP smart driver for the scanner is incompatible, I tried the scan and print doctor but despite telling it I had scanner problem it got fixated on trying to fix non existing print problem and didn't bother at all with the scanner. No matter what I do I can't get my C309G to scan.
